The Spring Skin Routine You Never Knew You Needed
Is it just me or does it feel as though we have been waiting for a new season for ages?
Well, thankfully spring is almost here, which means:
- warmer weather
- brighter mornings
- longer days
- new makeup
- an updated skincare routine
And I've got a skincare routine that will give you the freshest, most radiant glow, of the season.
As the weather warms up, your skin has different needs to stay healthy.
Think exfoliation, on point double cleansing, more lip balm and even more SPF!
Below is a routine you can follow this spring to boost and brighten your springtime skin ⬇
1.Double Cleanse
Double cleansing means using two different types of cleansers, one oil-based and one water-based, to thoroughly clean your skin.
In the spring, when your skin tends to produce more oil, this method removes excess sebum, makeup, and impurities without stripping your skin's natural moisture.
2. Gentle Exfoliator:
After the harsh winter months, your skin could benefit from a gentle exfoliation to buff away dead skin cells and reveal a fresh, vibrant complexion.
This is a great way to prep your skin for spring giving it better absorption of other skincare products and a smoother application for your makeup.
3. Hydrating Toner:
Don't sleep on a hydrating toner beauté!
This step balances your skin's pH levels after your double cleanse and provides an extra layer of moisture.
This is important particularly in the spring when there's more chance of outdoor brunch appointments and fluctuating weather temperatures disrupting your skin's natural moisture balance.
4. Lightweight Moisturiser:
Don't forget to switch up that winter moisturiser on your dresser.
As the weather warms up, a heavy cream can feel too thick and may clog your pores.
However, a lightweight moisturiser will give you the same hydration without it feeling too heavy on your skin.
5. More SPF:
Springtime means more sunshine and, therefore, more shade for sun protection.
An SPF product protects skin from harmful UVA and UVB rays that can cause premature aging and skin cancer.
P.S. To my richly-melanated beauts, remember to test patch those SPF's for white-caste. I'm sure you're friendly but you certainly don't want to be Casper!
6. More Lip Balm:
The change from winter to spring leaves your lips vulnerable and prone to dryness and chapping.
It's like they just can't wait to start peeling and shedding. which I guess makes sense for a new season!
But, prevention is better than cure.
Get a head start before your lips even have the chance to chap by applying with the Goodnight Goddess Overnight Lip Balm morning and night.
This will nourish and hydrate your lips, leaving them smooth and supple and a great base for your spring lip colours
